Job Description

General Counsel

Reporting to the CEO, this key role will be part of the management team and lead a small team to:

• Support the Company's business strategy and initiatives
• Review commercial contracts and conduct due diligence on business initiatives
• Ensure the Company is compliant with all laws and regulations affecting their business
• Identify legal risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure that the company complies with its legal and regulatory requirements
• Advise business units on operational legal and compliance matters
• Liaise with regulators and other external parties regarding legal and regulatory matters affecting the business
• Manage the advice sought from external law firms
  

Requirements:

• You should be a commercially savvy qualified lawyer (common law qualified) with at least 15 years post qualification experience gained in law firms plus in-house

• Minimum 10 years' experience in a legal team head function in the telecommunications industry

• Experience in dealing with domestic and international regulatory authorities as well as external law firms from different jurisdictions

• Corporate M&A experience is necessary
  
• Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin is essential
