We are expanding our team of energetic, dedicated employees and are currently recruiting General Corporate Safety Officers. The successful candidate(s) will be required to work closely with the Safety Manager, and other CSO positions to carry out Health, Safety and Environment duties where required. As a General CSO, the candidate must be available to travel to various project sites, and carry out safety related administrative tasks on site, and at Head Office as needed.

  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
  • Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to law
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Monitor compliance with policies/laws by inspecting actions of employees and operations
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle workers compensation claims
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics
  • Produce detailed, accurate reports and develop relevant policies

What you bring:

  • A Team Attitude - ability to follow directions and take guidance
  • Strong Safety Acumen - a deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines is a must, and adherence to all Health & Safety Policies and Procedures is mandatory
  • Strong Communication Skills - must be able to clearly present and explain health and safety topics
  • Education – successful completion of the NAIT Occupational Health and Safety program
  • Analytic Skills - must be able to effectively analyze live situations as well as data and produce risk assessments accordingly
