Job Description

About the Role

  • Performs a variety of tasks related to the production and manufacturing of specialty alloys, including operating machinery, assisting with material handling, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. This could be in a variety of areas within our facilities.

Qualifications (please provide a minimum of 6 years of work history, if applicable); resume preferred (not required).

Education: High school diploma or equivalent and at least 18 years old (required).

Experience: Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).

Skills: Ability to follow established procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data. Able to concentrate on routine work details, use basic measuring devices and basic hand tools. Able to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints. Able to communicate with others and comprehend work instructions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing for extended periods of time, frequently grasping tools, bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, lifting/pushing/pulling, reaching, climbing and walking when performing duties for at least 8 hours a day often carrying loads up to 85lbs.
  • Repetitive lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling/lifting overhead up to 85lbs depending on the job assignment.
  • Grasping and handling materials and tools firmly & frequently.
  • Work is in a non - climate controlled, high-heat and/or cold environment wearing safety PPE including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs, steel-toed/metatarsal boots, and, in some areas, long sleeved fire-retardant jacket, full flame-resistant suit and heavy gloves.
  • Able to work any shift including off shifts (7am – 3pm, 3pm-11pm or 11pm-7am).
  • Able to work required overtime during weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all work is performed safely, comply with established safety protocols and procedures.
  • Operate machinery such as rolling mills, melting furnace or other specialized equipment.
  • Move materials, unload and load equipment ensuring material are properly staged for production.
  • Adhere to quality control procedures and ensure products meet required specifications.
  • Complete testing and documentation to meet quality requirements.
  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks on equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, material usage and other relevant information.
  • Promote values as demonstrated in personal productivity and quality of work.
  • Actively seek out and participate in Continuous Improvement practices.
  • Willingness to engage in and support team initiatives.
  • Regular and reliable attendance, which includes punctuality and working scheduled overtime, is necessary to meet our commitment to providing quality products and service to our customers.
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and make adjustments to machines as necessary.
  • Review standard operating procedures and job orders to determine appropriate product specifications and work instructions.
