TheGeneral Accounting Specialistparticipatesinthe month-endfinancialclose cyclefor multiple ledgers, meeting strict deadlines. The role supports all GWS Tool locations by ensuring accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, bankaccountsand other financial data shared with our stakeholders.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performsmonth-end financial close for multiple ledgers and meets strictmonth endclose and reporting deadlines.
Participatesinmonthly OneStream reporting, ensures quality and timeliness
Reconcilescash entries daily and supports the monthly bank reconciliation.
Prepares journal entries as needed, including prepaid amortizations,accruals,IFRS lease entries, calculating depreciation, allowance for bad debts, payroll
Prepares monthly account reconciliations.
Assistswiththe fixed assets subledger and processes fixed assets transactions.
Creates,reviewsand submitsHST and Sales Tax returns.
Supports Income Tax return preparation for US and Canada
Works on ad-hoc projects andanalysesas requested.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’sdegree in Accounting
3+years’ experienceas accountant, preferablyin manufacturing industry.
ExperiencewithInfor Visual &OneStreambeneficial.
Advanced Excel skills and the ability to learnnew technologies
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Lightwork that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds at a time.
