Job Description

General Ledger & Accounting Governance

  • Provide operational leadership of the general ledger across multiple ERP environments and across the regions, driving standardization, consistency, and governance of accounting processes
  • Review and approve journal entries (including accruals, reclasses, and adjustments), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with accounting standards
  • Ensure General Accounting and Reporting team outputs across the regions comply with accounting standards, internal policies, and key control requirements

Reconciliation & Balance Sheet Integrity

  • Lead governance over balance sheet and subledger reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of discrepancies across the regions
  • Drive proactive identification of aged items, abnormal balances, and recurring issues, ensuring root cause analysis and sustainable remediation
  • Ensure appropriate oversight of prepayments, accruals, and amortization schedules to maintain integrity of financial reporting

Accruals & Prepayments Oversight

  • Establish strong governance over accrual processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy through validation of open invoices and alignment with PO owners
  • Oversee timely recognition and review of recurring accruals and related adjustments
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment, tracking, and amortization of prepayments

Reporting Requirements

  • Ensure region and global reporting deliverables are met
  • Review US GAAP reporting requirements which may include regional reporting packages, statutory and tax reporting requirements and reports for consolidation
  • Establish/Maintain reporting dashboards to enable close monitoring across regions
  • Review entity financials, perform flux analysis, balance sheet reviews with the objective of having reasonable assurance of financials accuracy and to ensure financials are in line with accounting standards
  • Provide guidance to BPO on accounting treatment and coordinate with Technical accounting, RSO and Controllership on complex accounting treatment

Third-Party (BPO) Service Provider Governance

  • Provide operational leadership and governance over BPO service delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives, SLAs, KPIs, and internal controls
  • Monitor service performance, drive accountability, and lead regular performance reviews
  • Act as escalation point for critical issues, driving resolution, continuous improvement, and alignment with company policies and procedures

Audit, Compliance & Internal Controls Leadership

  • Accountable for SOX compliance and internal control frameworks in the General Accounting and Reporting team across the regions, ensuring effective design, execution, and continuous enhancement
  • Serve as senior point of contact for US GAAP internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings for General Accounting and Reporting
  • Champion a strong control environment across General accounting and Reporting operations and service delivery models

Cross-Functional & Regional Leadership

  • Oversee the delivery of accurate and insightful balance sheet variance analysis and commentary to Corporate Consolidations
  • Act as a key liaison with RSO, Corporate, Business Units, senior management and other key stakeholders to drive alignment and resolve complex accounting issues
  • Work with Global Leadership to provide accounting guidance across multiple legal entities and regions for general accounting and reporting team. Ensure standardized approach across the regions and to reach out to Technical Accounting, RSO and Controllership for complex accounting treatment
  • Partner with GPO, Corporate Controllership, RSO and other Global RTR teams to ensure alignment on complex and technical accounting matters

Process Standardization & Transformation

  • Work with Global Operations leaders to Lead standardization and optimization of accounting processes across regions and ERP platforms in coordination with GPO and RSOs
  • Identify and sponsor process improvements, automation initiatives, and best practices to enhance efficiency, scalability, and quality
  • Ensure robust process documentation and governance to support consistency and audit readiness

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Provide operational leadership and direction to the accounting organization, fostering a high-performance, accountable, and continuous improvement culture
  • Oversee and challenge team outputs (journal entries, reconciliations, accruals) to ensure quality and compliance
  • Own and drive KPI performance of the team, embedding a results-oriented mindset and continuous performance improvement
  • Ensure team operates cohesively in line with objective to standardize approach across regions

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and sponsor accounting and finance transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with operational objectives
  • Influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration across regions and teams
  • Build strong partnerships to support delivery of finance priorities and organizational goals

Additional responsibilities: 

  • Integrate Accounting processes from acquired companies into existing processes 
  • Identify and implement processes improvements and automation opportunities 
  • Communicate directly with multiple functions and businesses and senior management within the organization 
  • Review of non-standard ad-hoc journal entries as needed in line with policies 
  • Global General Accounting and Reporting Team oversight, mentoring and coaching
  • Timely update and escalation of key tasks to Global Operations leadership
  • Other tasks that may be assigned in line with Global Operations leadership

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum BA/BS Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in Accounting
  • Minimum 8-10 years of supervisory experience, experience managing other countries/regions a plus
  • Strong technical accounting standards knowledge – US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Experience in working in a regional or global shared service environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with SAP background, Blackline reconciliation background a plus

  • Able to work in shifts and manage teams working in shifts as part of Global Operations team
