The Opportunity:
Lead the General Accounting and Intercompany Reconciliation team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient intercompany settlements.
How you´ll made an impact:
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the General Accounting and Intercompany Reconciliation team.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for general ledger accounts.
Supervise the preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Manage the intercompany reconciliation process, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions and intercompany balances.
Ensure compliance with local accounting principles (e.g., Mexican GAAP) and IFRS, as applicable.
Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting.
Prepare financial reports and analysis for management as required.
Lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the general accounting and intercompany functions.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
Your Background:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in general accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Proven experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliation processes in a multinational environment.
Strong knowledge of Mexican GAAP and IFRS.
Proficiency in SAP or an equivalent large-scale ERP system is essential, in addition to hands-on experience with BlackLine Intercompany and Reconciliations.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
