About Pacific
Labour Mobility Support Program

The Pacific Australia
Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a signature initiative for the Australian
Government that enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) and
Timor-Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The Pacific Labour
Mobility Support Program's (PLMSP) role is to provide the Department of Foreign
Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and governments in 9 PICs and Timor-Leste with support
to enable workers to access PALM scheme in inclusive ways that maximise the
benefits for the workers and national economies while minimising risks from
labour mobility participation. Palladium is contracted to deliver PLMSP on
behalf of DFAT.

This Opportunity
We're growing our
Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) team and have two
exciting opportunities for early-career professionals to join us in Brisbane.
If you're passionate about gender equality, disability and social inclusion - and
looking for a role where you can learn from experienced practitioners while
making a tangible difference across the Pacific and Timor-Leste - we'd love to
hear from you.

As a GEDSI Officer,
you'll work alongside our GEDSI Coordinators, Managers and Senior Manager to
bring our GEDSI strategy and annual plan to life. No two days will look the
same: one day you might be helping coordinate an International Women's Day
event, the next you could be drafting a best-practice note, supporting travel
logistics for a regional workshop, or contributing ideas to a new training
resource. It's a hands-on role with plenty of variety, exposure to senior
leaders and international development practitioners, and a genuine opportunity
to grow your career in a supportive team.
These are fixed-term
opportunities based in our Brisbane office, with a flexible hybrid arrangement
(minimum 50% in-office presence each week).

What you'll be
doing

  • Supporting the delivery of GEDSI
activities under the PLMSP annual plan, including day-to-day
    administrative and coordination support.
  • Helping organise travel and logistics for
GEDSI activities, working closely with our Operations team and other
    program streams.
  • Coordinating GEDSI events and awareness
days - think International Women's Day, International Day of People with
Disabilities, and 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
  • Providing administrative support to the
GEDSI Senior Manager and GEDSI Managers, including scheduling meetings,
preparing agendas, and capturing clear minutes and action items.
  • Contributing to the development of GEDSI
materials such as training content, guidelines, SOPs and best-practice
notes - and helping make sure they land well in different cultural
    contexts.
  • Pitching in flexibly to support emerging
priorities of the GEDSI team, PLMSP, and DFAT.
  • Bringing curiosity to how we work - exploring
how AI, data and new technology can help us work smarter.

About you

We're looking for
someone who is curious, organised, and genuinely interested in gender equality,
disability and social inclusion. You don't need years of experience - what
matters is your willingness to learn, your attention to detail, and your
enthusiasm for the work. Knowledge of and experience in the Pacific and/or
Timor Leste would be highly valued.

You'll likely have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant
discipline such as Social Work, Gender Studies, International Development,
Community Development, Anthropology or a related social science (or
    equivalent work experience).
  • Around 1-3 years of relevant professional
experience - experience in the Pacific or Timor-Leste is a plus, but not
    essential.
  • A general understanding of gender
equality, disability inclusion, social inclusion, human rights and
international development concepts, and an interest in how these translate
    into practice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the
confidence to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and
    cultures.
  • Solid coordination and organisational
skills, with the ability to juggle competing tasks.
  • Good written communication skills - you
can put together clear notes, emails and short reports.
  • Confidence to speak up in meetings,
present ideas, and help facilitate small group discussions.
  • The ability to work both independently and
as part of a close-knit team.
  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding, integrity, and ethical development practice.

Why join us?

  • Be part of a purpose-driven program
improving lives across the Pacific and Timor-Leste.
  • Work in a collaborative, inclusive team
that genuinely invests in your development.
  • Gain broad exposure to international
development, GEDSI practice, and program delivery early in your career.
  • Enjoy flexible working arrangements in our
    Brisbane office.

Please note: This role
is open to Brisbane-based candidates only. You must have valid Australian work
rights to be considered; visa sponsorship and relocation are not available for
this position.

We are committed to
building a diverse workforce and strongly encourage applications from First
Nations peoples, people with disability, and people from culturally and
linguistically diverse backgrounds. Disclosing a disability will not negatively
affect your application, please tell us as much as you feel comfortable sharing
so we can work with you on any adjustments you might need. For assistance,
please contact recruitment@plmsp.com.au.

This role involves
working with children, and the successful candidate will be required to
complete both a police check and a Working with Children Check as part of
Palladium’s commitment to being a child-safe organisation

If this opportunity interests you,
we encourage you to apply promptly. Please note that only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
