About the Program
The Australia–Papua New Guinea Economic Partnership (APEP) is a flagship partnership supporting Papua New Guinea’s economic development priorities. Delivered by the Government of Australia in close collaboration with the Government of Papua New Guinea, APEP focuses on strengthening economic systems, institutions, and opportunities that support sustainable and inclusive growth through to 2028.

Gender equality, disability social inclusion (GEDSI), women’s economic empowerment, and climate are central to APEP and integrated across all engagement areas and activities.
About the Opportunity
The Project will partner with the Papua New Guinea Women in Coffee Association (PNGWICA) to strengthen its institutional capacity to better serve its 6,000+ members across PNG. Established in 2012, PNGWICA provides a nationally recognised platform for women farmers to build technical and business skills, participate in higher-value activities (including aggregation and selling), and collectively address entrenched gender-based constraints across the coffee value chain.
This Project Officer will be based in Goroka, EHP and is responsible for providing support to the Sapotim ol meri insait long wok kofi / Supporting Women in the Coffee Industry project and will play an important role to support the effective and efficient implementation of this project.
Key responsibilities
Support development of work plans, schedules, activity planning and project delivery;
Support the delivery of APEP and PNGWICA activity implementation;
Support project M&E, including data collection and assist with stakeholder and project analysis;
Support project reviews and revise work planning as required to ensure that the project remains appropriate to deliver outcomes;
Support coordination tasks, including the organisation of meetings, events, training and workshops;
Support project and activity reporting and contribute to facility-level reports, including six-monthly outputs and annual outcomes reports;
Work closely with the implementation team to ensure compliance with program operational systems, policies and processes;
Support all procurement and contract management processes;
Support financial, travel and administrative tasks related to project delivery.
About You
For applications to be considered, a response to the Key Selection Criteria below must be provided
Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, monitoring and evaluation, project management, development, or another relevant discipline.
Understanding of project implementation
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal staff, partners and stakeholders to support project implementation
At least two years’ experience in a similar role working on project implementation within the aid and development sector in PNG.
IT skills including using Microsoft Office.
Good written communication skills with experience responding to partner needs and support with report writing.
Demonstrated ability to integrate and promote principles of gender equality, disability, and social inclusion in all aspects of this role.
