Your team

You will be working in the GED quant dev team in Hong Kong within the Global Markets Principal E-Trading business, under a business reporting line. The role involves hands-on implementation of technical solutions for electronically market-making equity derivatives.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to engage with various projects and gain exposure to algorithmic trading and its associated technologies, such as complex event processing and KDB.
The successful candidate will participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from analysis through implementation and support, across different projects within the team. There is considerable interaction with the business teams based in Hong Kong, as well as other quantitative analysts and IT teams located in London.

Your expertise

• We are looking for a highly skilled, ambitious & motivated individual to help deliver on strategic initiatives to support the growth of our Equity Derivatives business.
• Ideal candidates should hold an BSc or higher in a quantitative field / applied science e.g. computer science, mathematics, physics etc.
• The position requires extensive experience in Java programing coupled with excellent design and problem solving skills.
• You must be proactive and detail-oriented, yet comfortable working in a dynamic environment with fast paced deliveries and changing requirements.
• You will need to be comfortable interacting with trading and sales desks to provide support to the front-office Public Distribution Trading business, especially but not exclusively in regard to the models, tools and applications owned and maintained by the team.
• You must be able to come-up with clear and solid designs to implement proposed modelling and infrastructure changes, to deliver in dynamic, agile, and often ambiguous contexts, and to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
