Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Simulation Assisted Engineering (SAE) engineer works along with the physical plant model SAE team, Human Factors Engineering (HFE) team and Electrical team to enable LEAN integrated plant design (IPD) using modern digital engineering tools and techniques. SAE is a collaborative, cross-disciplinary, systems engineering approach to complex IPD, analysis, and optimization. SAE is based on the use of a modern, physics and mathematics, digital engineering modeling, logic development and simulation software toolkit. Focus is on technical risk, engineering labor, and schedule duration reduction during first of a kind (FOAK) plant design.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Collaborate in cross-functional environment of; Physics based plant model, Electrical, and HFE to successful deployment, implementation, and lifecycle stewardship of the multi-organization and multi-geographic SAE environment.
• Own and maintain a singular Control Main Part List (CMPL) while ensuring requirements and configuration management are updated and baselined as necessary.
• Develop and run scenarios for single systems, collections of interrelated systems, or entire power plant for: startup, shutdown, and dynamic maneuvering throughout all modes of plant operations.
• Collaborate with simulation software discipline Leads to prepare plans, procedures, and reports then perform factory acceptance test (FAT) and site acceptance test (SAT) for simulator, Discrepancy Reports (DR), enhancement requests, technical oversight issues, and training needs.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Systems, or Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent 4 year technical degree.
• Proven experience in simulation, development of control logics, using modern physics, mathematics, and software based modeling tools for design, analysis, or training involving; nuclear reactor thermal hydraulics, PID tuning, plant process fluidic and mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, monitoring systems.
Desired Qualifications:
• Master of Science in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Systems, or Physics, Chemistry.
• Expertise in the application of GE’s MarkVIe product family and of GE’s Cimplicity software (SCADA)
• Expertise in the application of Rockwell Automation of Allen Bradley/FactoryTalk, Siemen’s Totally Integrated Automation (TIA)
• Experience working with Industry protocols like MODBUS, Profibus, Profinet, FF, CAN, Ethernet
• Proficiency in programming languages like C/C++/C#/Java/Python and ability to write code for macro functional block diagrams and test scripts.
• Experience using modern digital engineering collaboration and design tools (e.g., 3KeyMaster/WSC, Easy5/MSC, Simulink MATLAB/MathWorks)
• Experience developing high fidelity engineering simulator or FSS integrated with a DCS platform either via virtual controller or emulation.
• Knowledge of software design for cybersecurity.

GE Vernova is a purpose-built energy technology company on a mission to electrify to thrive and decarbonize the world.
It is made up of three businesses -- Power, Wind, and Electrification -- with focus on accelerating the path to more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy, while helping our customers power economies and deliver the electricity that is vital to health, safety, security, and improved quality of life.
The world needs more energy, smarter energy. With energy demand expected to grow by more than 50% in the next 20 years, we are continuously innovating to meet the moment…like we have for the past 130 years. The Energy of Change and relentless optimism are what drive us – it’s about never giving up and seeing what’s possible so that we deliver the energy technologies the world needs right now and for generations to come.
GE Vernova’s attitude and edge is embedded in its name. We retain our treasured legacy, “GE,” as an enduring and hard-earned badge of quality and ingenuity. “Ver” / “verde” signal Earth’s verdant and lush ecosystems. “Nova,” from the Latin “novus,” nods to a new, innovative era of lower carbon energy that GE Vernova will help deliver.
Together, we have the energy to change the world.
