About this Role


We are seeking a GCP Data Engineer to design, build, and operationalise cloud‑based data solutions, ensuring alignment between high‑level and low‑level technical designs. The individual will work within the Technology function, contributing to data engineering best practices, leading small initiatives when needed, and enabling knowledge sharing within the team. This role is based in Pune, India and reports to Karthikeyan.

What you will do

  • Translate high‑level design (HLD) into detailed low‑level design (LLD) documents for project delivery.
  • Build, optimise, and operationalise data processing systems aligned with approved design specifications.
  • Use GCP technologies such as BigQuery, Airflow, DataFlow, DataProc, Looker, and other relevant components to deliver scalable data solutions.
  • Apply cloud data pipeline design patterns, identifying innovative approaches to overcome platform limitations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert by enabling junior colleagues through knowledge transfer and collaboration.
  • Lead small teams or project workstreams from build to closure when required.
  • Contribute to organisational improvement initiatives including process optimisation, tool adoption, and quality enhancement.
  • Support technical guilds by sharing expertise and promoting engineering excellence.

Who you are

  • Skilled in SQL with experience designing and delivering complex data solutions.
  • Experienced in GCP data engineering components including BigQuery, DataFlow, Looker, and DataProc.
  • Proficient in DBT, data modelling, Jinja templating, and lineage generation.
  • Knowledgeable in Data Vault 2.0 principles and implementation on cloud platforms.
  • Brings over 6 years of overall experience, including 2–4 years relevant to GCP, DBT, and Data Vault 2.0.
  • Holds a degree in B.E./B.Tech, BCA/MCA or BSc/MSc in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Preferably certified as a Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer.
  • Demonstrates curiosity, a continuous learning mindset, and the ability to approach problems with creativity.
