Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a three-person technical team responsible for the end-to-end administration of the GCCS-J system. Direct operations involving lifecycle management, relocation, testing, and repair of GCCS hardware, including servers and workstations.

  • Direct software deployment operations for GCCS-J systems. Oversee complex software configurations and guide junior technicians through advanced troubleshooting to ensure fully operational system functionality.

  • Spearhead comprehensive system audits and pre-deployment checkouts of GCCS-J. Ensure unit readiness postures are maintained and serve as the final technical authority in resolving complex system discrepancies.

  • Author, implement, and govern the GCCS-AF Contingency Plan. Direct local and remote disaster recovery protocols, backups, and network restorations to ensure resilient Continuity of Operations (COOP).

  • Serve as the senior technical representative for the organization during CONUS travel (up to six times annually). Brief senior leadership and stakeholders at COOP and GCCS-related conferences.

  • Act as the senior technical lead for the contingent Advanced Echelon (ADVON) team, managing 24/7 operational standby rosters and ensuring immediate deployment readiness for the unit.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree in information technology or related field of study with 6+ years' experience, additional years of applicable experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance prior to start date (Top Secret preferred).

  • Current 8140 IAT Level II (Intermediate or Advanced) certificate: CompTIA Security+ or CISSP.

  • 5+ years of IT/network administration experience in DoD environments. Includes 2-5 years analyzing and supporting GCCS-J systems, with a minimum of 2 years in a technical leadership, supervisory, or project lead capacity.

  • Expert-level experience directing the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of GCCS-J systems on Windows 11 platforms within Domain Naming Service (DNS) and Active Directory environments.

  • Proven track record of leading system audits and pre-deployment checkouts of GCCS-M to support readiness postures and resolve enterprise-level system discrepancies.

  • Advanced proficiency with Windows DHCP, GPO, and PowerShell. Demonstrated ability to utilize PowerShell scripting for the remote management of workstations and servers. Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking principles.

  • Experienced in governing and executing DoD Patch Management and Vulnerability Remediation processes using enterprise tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience operating and liaising with stakeholders within prominent national security environments, including the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB). Deep operational knowledge of Air Force, Headquarters Air Force (HAF), and Air Force District of Washington (AFNCR) command structures and coordination protocols.

  • Demonstrated capability to lead, coordinate, and orchestrate diverse, cross-functional technical teams—including software developers, hardware engineers, and network specialists—to successfully execute complex mission requirements.
