Job Description

We are looking for a: Schedule Manager who is available for an indicative period of two years in the UK, before returning to one of Leonardo Italia's sites.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Key Events Schedule aligned with the Contract, and the IMS/ICS Programme Plans

Establish and report against the Programme Critical Path, monitoring the next level of project schedules, particularly the logical interfaces. Produce/develop schedules to support the Bid Management process, forward planning and integrated business planning, providing the source of truth for resource demand within the programme.

Lead coaching & education of schedulers and maintain a focus on the customer needs coupled with a desire to remove nonvalue added activities.

Will support the governance, guidance and tuition of other members of the scheduling team, in all topics associated with project planning and scheduling, including toolset functionality and capability.

Accountabilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop and maintain a detailed programme schedule (ICS,IMS,KES, Forward planning and schedule priorities);
  • Elaborate structured schedule hierarchy defining the relationship between major milestones, phases and tasks;
  • Configuration Management of the schedule, including embodiment of agreed Project Changes;
  • Maintain and verify schedule alignment across different levels, revise schedules to reflect changes;
  • Monitor progress and identify deviations from the plan;
  • Collaborate with functional and delivery teams to optimize the execution timeline;
  • Provide regular schedule performance reports to the Programme Integration Lead;
  • Adjust timelines as needed while keeping both internal and external stakeholders informed (in conjunction with Stakeholder and Communication Manager);
  • Manage team performance and code of conduct in accordance with the business policies;
  • Production and maintenance of the Planning Assumptions to support cost management and SWP;
  • Identification of the Programme Critical Path;
  • Provision of regular status reports of the schedule (including critical path);
  • Support to Bid Management, including creation of Integrated Schedules to be utilised in the bid;
  • What if scenario planning;
  • Input into company Commercial and Business Strategy planning;
  • Conduct change Impact Analysis;
  • Provision of education/training material for area of expertise to all planning staff & associated stakeholders;
  • Ensure common approach to Project Planning (contracts /sites Natcos) by promoting standard processes, identifying improvements & leading delivery of these for area of expertise;
  • Maintain lessons learnt database for area of expertise and work with key stakeholders to support continuous improvement to business processes;

Objectives (SAMPLE):

  • Maintain programme schedule with no more than a xx% deviation from baseline;
  • Achieve a xx% on-time delivery for all critical programme activities;
  • Critical Path and scenario planning;
  • Schedule change management records and configuration reports;
  • Periodic schedule health and evaluation for senior/customer reporting requirements.

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience;
  • Leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring a team and engaging with several stakeholders;
  • Significant experience in creating, consolidating, and analysing schedule at a programme level, including performance measures;
  • 5-10 years of proven experience in the role;
  • Experience in schedule methodologies, analysis to identify/forecast possible scenarios, giving insights about actionable solutions collaborating with other functions;
  • Excellent Knowledge of Office tools and usage of Schedule Analysis tools (example: Office, Primavera, Power Bi).

Desirable:

  • Experience in complex programmes;
  • Experience in cost/risk analytics and related tools.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
