Job Description

We are looking for a: Internal Assurance and Improvement Manager who is available for an indicative period of two years in the UK, before returning to one of Leonardo Italia's sites.

Responsibilities:

Provides the leadership driven assurance for: functional, independent assurance, leading process assurance development and data quality frameworks. This approach supports the improvement of PM&C systems, processes, data and people, while focusing on improving the quality culture within the entire PM&C community, assuring compliance and adherence to both processes and standards.

Accountabilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Definition and development of assurance framework;
  • Analyse existing processes to verify their compliance to required standards;
  • Roll out the assurance framework to keep track of process compliance, performance, and adherence to agreed standards;
  • Provide audit and review provisions that are conducted periodically to achieve consistency and areas of improvement;
  • Produce integrated audit and assurance plan to structure and consolidate all assurance and audit activities on PM processes;
  • Support Quality and Audit function in programme compliance monitoring and reporting;
  • Identify possible areas of processes improvements and define corrective actions;
  • Monitor the effectiveness of processes implemented changes ensuring issues resolution;
  • Ensure PM processes compliance with laws and internal policies and regulations;
  • Develop and maintain assurance tools that allow to assess process control effectiveness;
  • Provide the functional centre of excellence for assurance from a PM&C perspective;
  • Manage team performance and code of conduct in accordance with the company policies;
  • Provide strategic view for assurance to support business planning and objectives;
  • Perform the second line of assurance validation in support of the business quality policy.

Objectives (Sample)

  • Achieve xx% compliance with all governance standards by xx;
  • Reduce governance-related non-compliance incidents by xx%;
  • Establish means for continuous monitoring and enhancement of processes;
  • Using feedback loops, performance data, and evolving best practices;
  • Provide a structured assurance system for the function which includes independent oversight in the appropriate areas. This structures in line 1 the compliance checks, line 2 are effectiveness checks and in line 3 contain fully independent/external assurance and audit.

Requirements:

  • Professional certifications; example: PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM (Association for Project Management);
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in relevant subject;
  • Leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring a team and engaging with several stakeholders;
  • Ability to establish assurance framework, plan and methods;
  • Relevant Experience in developing and implementing assurance frameworks;
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (example: ISO);
  • Excellent knowledge of Office tools and solutions used for governance assurance.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
