Job Description

The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a broad range of maintenance tasks to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations on the North Slope. This position will be responsible for driving CCI's Mission, Vision, and Values, a crucial part of the strategic plan to drive success. CCI Industrial Services leads the industry in Safety, Innovation, and Excellence.

CCI's mission is to provide quality-driven, cost-effective construction, maintenance, industrial cleaning, power generation, and transportation services to support resource development companies.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Communicate daily status of current projects to Facility Operations and the O&M Superintendent as necessary to ensure all projects are timely and within company and client standards.
  • Assist others on special project needs, when appropriate.
  • Operating a variety of hand and power tools (buffer/grinders, jigsaw, drills, T-bar, rakes, shovels, etc.) carrying and lifting materials (cribbing, chock blocks, straps, insulation, metal, etc.) for pipeline insulation removal and installation.
  • Perform manual labor insulating, fabricating, installing sheet metal, using shop equipment, erecting scaffolding, etc.
  • Will ensure work scopes are fully defined and proper resources and materials are in place to accomplish goals

  • Comply with all guidelines, policies and procedures established by CCI while on shift, on call or attending
  • Demonstrate professional skills and abilities.

  • Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be deemed unsafe. Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly.   • Willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to safety
  • Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur.
  • Maintain and demonstrate proficient working knowledge of all response-related equipment, policies, procedures and tactics at all times
  • Attend and participate in required meetings, training, and exercises.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Self-directed with minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The ability to work well with others in an environment that includes harsh weather conditions, remote locations.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the

construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high

precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of

electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to clearly speak, write, read and understand the English language.
  • Must have hand and power tool knowledge and experience.
  • NSTC Certification.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in the oil and gas industry
  • Prior experience working on the North Slope

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an

employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer

Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee’s ability to

perform to the job standard. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals

with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY EVALUATION (FCE) LEVEL 3.

  • MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from waist level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
  • VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man. Have correctable vision to at least 20/40.
  • RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
