The Analyst works closely with Engineering & Major Capital (EMC) and Asset Finance teams, acting as an extension of the AR Finance organization, and plays an active role in identifying process improvement opportunities and applying digital and analytical solutions.

In this position, the Analyst will have the opportunity to:

Develop deep understanding of asset retirement processes, data, and financial impacts across Upstream assets.
Apply accounting and financial analysis skills to support asset retirement decision-making.
Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Asset teams, and Finance stakeholders across geographies.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, automation, and digitalization.
Build analytical capabilities using financial models and data-driven insights to support planning and performance assessment.
Main responsibilities of the position may include, but are not limited to:
Support the execution and continuous improvement of ARO-related financial processes, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
Perform financial analyses to support asset retirement planning and decision-making, including sensitivity, pro forma, and cause-and-effect analysis.
Analyze ARO balances, drivers, and movements; prepare variance explanations and management insights.
Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to ARO, including reconciliations and reporting.
Partner with Engineering & Major Capital (EMC) and Asset Finance teams to align financial data with technical and operational inputs.
Identify, propose, and support implementation of process improvements and standardization opportunities.
Support development and maintenance of analytical tools, reports, and dashboards.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and SOX requirements.
Utilize enterprise systems and tools such as SAP, JDE, Hyperion, and Microsoft Office applications.
