Job Title: Gate Guard Supervisor (Level II Non-commissioned)

Region/Area: Laredo, Tx

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00/hour, paid weekly

Status: Full Time

Shift: Monday - Friday 9am -5pm

Ideal candidate must be flexible to cover any shifts as need.

Position Summary:

First Responder Protective Services is seeking a Gate Guard Supervisor to oversee security operations at our contracted truck yard site in Northeastern Laredo, TX, located near the area’s major industrial and cross-border transportation corridor. The site includes a truck yard with an air-conditioned guard shack.

The Gate Guard Supervisor will be responsible for leading and managing a team of unarmed security guards, including delegating daily duties, providing training and guidance, managing shift schedules, and ensuring consistent staffing and shift coverage.

Responsibilities:

• Must be able to delegate, train and cover any shifts needed according to demand.
• Ensure shift coverage when call-outs occur.
• Ensure security guard maintain security licenses, uniforms, and equipment
• Ensure guards follow dress code and company policy.
• Check trucks in and out of yard efficiently, and perform perimeter checks.
• During peak daytime hours, work with a second guard to manage truck check-ins and check-outs efficiently and maintain a flow.
• Write detailed and accurate daily reports of incidents or irregularities for submission to the customer.
• Protect property from theft or damage, or persons from hazards or interference.
• Enforce property rules and regulations designed to prevent breaches of security.
• Arrive 15 minutes prior to shift start to avoid any clock in complications (not expected to work until shift starts).

Essential Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to carry out written and verbal instructions from management.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to respect sensitive and confidential information that may be learned on post.
• Must be able to stay awake and alert for entire duration of shift.

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
• We participate in E-Verify.
• Must have valid TX Driver's License and favorable driving history.
• Active Non-Commissioned Security Officer License issued from the TX Dept of Public Safety Private Security Board

Benefits:

• 1.5x overtime after 40 hours in a pay period
• W2 position (OT starts after 40 hours in same work week & taxes taken out) Weekly direct deposit payment
• First year of employment: Employees accrue up to 7 days (56 hours) of PTO. Second year of employment: Accrual increases to 10 days (80hours). Fifth year of employment and beyond: Accrual maxes out at 15 days (120 hours).

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Preferred Requirement:

• Military experience preferred

Experience:

• Customer Service: 2 year
• Security: 2 year
• Supervisor: 2 year

Compensation and Work schedule:

• Weekly pay, $14-15 per hour. (Review period after 90days)
• Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm
