Boone Memorial Health (BMH) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Gastroenterology service line. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary environment and make a meaningful impact on the health of our community. The primary work location will be the BMH Medical Clinic B in Madison, WV, with occasional coverage at other BMH locations.
About the Role
The Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Provider will provide comprehensive outpatient care to patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. Working under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Clinic Services Officer, the APP will evaluate, diagnose, and manage GI-related concerns while maintaining high standards of clinical practice, documentation, quality, and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide outpatient gastroenterology care in alignment with BMH, Medical Staff, and RHC policies and procedures
• Participate in GI-focused diagnostic evaluation, including ordering and interpreting laboratory and imaging studies
• Develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and counsel patients on disease management and lifestyle modification
• Perform GI-related outpatient procedures within scope, training, and competency
• Refer patients appropriately to collaborating specialists when clinically indicated
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and care teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
• Participate in quality assurance activities, Medical Staff meetings, and clinical improvement initiatives
• Maintain required licensure, board certification, and ACLS/PALS certifications
Required Qualifications
• Active West Virginia license as an APRN (NP) or Physician Assistant
• One or more years of experience practicing as an Advanced Practice Provider
• Strong commitment to patient-centered specialty care

• Prior gastroenterology experience is helpful but not required
