Department Overview
Gas Portfolio Management and Planning (GPM&P) is focused on providing a safe system to transport the flow of natural gas to PG&E customers and is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission project management. This includes the ownership of project initiation and planning, project forecasting and scheduling, project execution partnership and oversight, and project closeout. The portfolio’s scope includes 100’s of projects with maintenance scope, as well as direct or indirect assessment of the 22,000 miles of PG&E’s gas system pipe, necessary to move natural gas across the state of California.
The essential attributes of GPM&P are the management of large budgets, project schedules, managing project scope and maintaining proper records of the work completed. GPM&P collaborates cross functionally within the gas organization, as project teams are made up of SME’s from finance, land panning and environment, local and federal permitting jurisdictions, customer relations, government relations, gas planning, engineering, construction, and records Information Management (RIM). GPM&P key role is to provide oversight of the structure and process, implementing innovative and industry leading practices, while providing safe and reliable natural gas to PG&E customers.
GPM&P is responsible for safe and intentional planning and execution of both small and large gas system projects. This is a mature team, well versed in the efficient use of technology, tools and applications, necessary to manage the lifecycle of projects, including CPCU and federally mandated records maintained by current PG&E records and information management standards and processes.
GPM&P is looking for a highly motivated and talented summer intern to support the project management team by assisting with maintaining project schedules, monthly forecasting, project team meetings, field visits and project close outs. There are currently 100’s of projects in process within the project lifecycle that require additional support during the peak construction cycle.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.88 to 26.02.
Responsibilities
The successful intern will have the opportunity to support Managers and Directors with essential work completing reports and presentations. This position will learn and understand the importance of the work executed by Gas Transmission and how it is planned, engineered and executed. The intern will be exposed to all aspects of PG&E Gas Operations, working side-by-side with a team of experienced gas leaders.
