Job Description

General Position Summary:

The Gas Scheduler is responsible for providing operational support and expertise within OGUSA and its affiliates. Responsible for Natural Gas Scheduling with a primary focus on Gulf South, Coastal Bend Header, Enterprise Texas Pipeline and Transco, as well as interconnecting pipelines; ETRM (Allegro) pathing and scheduling. Interacts with counterparties, pipelines, storage operators, Freeport LNG personnel and internally with Gas Supply, OGTX's Freeport LNG Commercial Operations team, Risk and Middle Office, Legal, Compliance, Gas Accounting, OGUSA's upstream and IPP teams, and Osaka Gas Headquarters.

Essential Job Functions

- Coordinate and schedule natural gas purchases, sales, Park & Loans, transportation, storage activities, and LNG feed gas market demand owned and/or controlled by OGUSA and its affiliates

- Communicate and coordinate with natural gas counterparties (Buyers, Sellers, Transporters, Gas Storage Operators) to ensure all gas volumes are scheduled properly, timely (within the respective Nomination Cycle), and accurately on a daily basis

- Track volumes related to any Park & Loans, Exchanges, Storage and pipeline imbalance arrangements and communicate discrepancies with gas desk team members

- Monitor the Gas Quality measurements and Gulf South's Gas Quality Monitoring Protocol document regarding the Coastal Bend Header to assist with routing gas volumes pursuant to the Coastal Bend Header's unique gas quality requirements

- Path natural gas purchases, sales, transportation and imbalances in the ETRM system of record on a daily basis and validate all transactions with the pipeline nominations so that statements and invoices are correct

- Continually seek market-related information that may impact market conditions and communicate that information to the other commercial team members immediately

- Coordinate with Gas Settlements personnel in Accounting to actualize and reconcile past month activity to assist in the resolution of pipeline statements, invoices and billing discrepancies to insure proper recording in both the ETRM and accounting systems

- Understand contractual commitments, including documentation pertaining to all commercial transactions

- Acquire and maintain knowledge of pipeline rates, tariffs, operational conditions and basis values on specific pipelines impacting OGUSA business in order to capitalize on optimization opportunities

- Acquire a knowledge base and assist in the economic decisions in routing natural gas and managing imbalances as well as develop an understanding of gas supply and market alternatives

- Collaborate and cooperate with counterparties, partners and international working teams

- Comply with all Risk, Compliance, Legal and Corporate Policies

- Participate in rotational evening, weekend and holiday coverage for gas scheduling responsibilities

Requirements

Education

- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, commerce or other closely related field

Experience

- 1+ years natural gas scheduling experience on interstate gas pipelines and ETRM systems

- Experience scheduling on pipelines and gas storage facilities in the Texas and Louisiana gulf coast areas with experience on Gulf South and Transco preferred

- Experience scheduling and pathing in Allegro ETRM system preferred

Skills

- Accuracy, communication and decision-making skills are critical

- Ability to adapt to flexibility in work assignments; manage changing priorities, compressed deadlines and, multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

- Proficient with MS Suite, Natural Gas Pipeline EBBs, ICE - Instant Message and ETRM Systems, able to design custom reports as necessary

- Ability to work independently and effectively communicate, negotiate and advise various commercial, accounting and operations teams

- Exceptional analytical, organizational, time-management and reporting skills

- Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with all levels within the organization

- Outstanding customer service with the ability to create interpersonal rapport and a desire to perform business promptly and courteously with internal and external counterparties

- Must be tactful, sensitive to intercultural relationships, mature, flexible and able to successfully respond to multiple work pressures

- Must be comfortable communicating with international, multi-cultural working teams

- Ability to remain calm and courteous in demanding situations

- Strong listening, writing and verbal communication skills

- Mathematical, quantitative and reasoning skills
