Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Musreau Gas Plant, part of the PGI Asset team, is recruiting for a Gas Plant Operator to join the team. Reporting to the Day Foreman, Operations, this role is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of gas plant and field infrastructure supporting processing activities at the Musreau facility.

This role operates within a remote, camp-based environment and follows a rotational schedule. As Pembina continues to advance its strategic priorities across safety, reliability, and operational excellence, this position contributes directly by ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. Pembina is the largest third-party gas processor in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, delivering integrated gas and liquids solutions from wellhead to market.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of “Zero by Choice” and adherence to Life Saving Rules;
  • Safely start up, operate, monitor, and shut down gas plant and field equipment;
  • Complete all work safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally responsible manner;
  • Monitor plant performance, identify process upsets, and take appropriate action to resolve issues;
  • Complete required documentation including logbooks, daily production reports, inspections, and maintenance activities;
  • Coordinate and support maintenance activities, including lockouts and contractor oversight;
  • Create and manage notifications in SAP PMM and ensure equipment readiness for scheduled maintenance;
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, and operational efficiency;
  • Maintain required safety tickets and participate in ongoing training;
  • Support and contribute to Pembina’s culture by prioritizing safety, fostering inclusion, and collaborating effectively with team members, contractors, and stakeholders;
  • Demonstrate learning agility by actively seeking feedback, adapting to new information, and applying learnings to improve performance and deliver results in a dynamic plant environment; and
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary or trade education related to the oil and gas industry is an asset;
  • Experience in gas plant or field operations is considered an asset;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of plant equipment and systems;
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand operating environment;
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing operational demands;
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative and accountable team environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tools, technologies, and processes and apply those learnings effectively;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications; and
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.


This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
