Gas Engineer

Location: Plymouth, Devon and surrounding areas

Salary: £45,000–£50,000 per annum, depending on experience

Contract: Permanent, full-time

The Opportunity

YCR are recruiting an experienced Gas Engineer on behalf of an established and growing building services contractor operating across Plymouth and the surrounding areas.

Our client provides mechanical, electrical and facilities maintenance services across a range of commercial and domestic properties. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a motivated Gas Engineer to join their team.

This is a varied role involving servicing, maintenance, installation and repairs, with the opportunity to work across a range of customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, installation and repairs of gas appliances and heating systems.
• Diagnose and resolve faults with boilers, heating systems and associated equipment.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown work.
• Undertake gas safety inspections, testing and certification.
• Commission and test new and replacement gas appliances.
• Assist with general mechanical maintenance, including plumbing and hot and cold water systems.
• Complete service reports, job sheets and compliance documentation accurately.
• Ensure all work meets current Gas Safe regulations and health and safety requirements.
• Provide a professional and reliable service to customers and site teams.

What We're Looking For

• Relevant ACS gas qualifications and current Gas Safe registration.
• Proven experience in gas servicing, maintenance, installation and fault-finding.
• Strong technical knowledge of boilers and heating systems.
• Experience working in commercial and/or domestic environments.
• Good understanding of gas safety regulations and industry standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

• Commercial gas qualifications.
• Experience within facilities management or building services maintenance.
