Join our world-class Product Definition Engineering for Gas Turbine and Aero Flange to Flange team to drive the future of energy through innovative technical solutions, process automation, and high-level design.
Working at the intersection of engineering and manufacturing, you will tackle complex enterprise challenges and play a critical role in communicating strategic goals across the organization. We are looking for a forward-thinking designer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where technical excellence directly influences our global success.
In this position, you will execute and lead activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions, and systems, defining the state-of-the-art in your specialty, applying advanced technologies to optimize product quality, performance, and cost-efficiency. You will leverage advanced metrology techniques, including the analysis of Blue Light scan data, to perform high-precision reverse engineering and validate complex geometries against design intent. You will manage the full technical lifecycle — from creating 3D models and precise 2D definitions to supporting inspection and assembly — and refining operational practices. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.
Roles and Responsibilities
Create 3D models and technical definitions, leveraging PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) within CAD environments to ensure a robust, model-based definition (MBD) approach using NX and Geomagic.
Execute reverse engineering workflows by processing and analyzing Blue Light scan (BLS) data to reconstruct complex geometries, ensuring high-fidelity digital representations of physical components.
Perform comparative analysis between scanned parts and original design intent to validate dimensions, identify deviations, and support continuous product improvement.
Define geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) required for proper clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing capabilities.
Ensure design integrity and no high-risk escaping defects and drive improvements in FTY (error reduction).
Utilize applicable PLM system (GTCC) to manage and issue product definition data.
Proactively communicate progress, status, risk, needed inputs and target release dates to stakeholders & Tech Leads.
Provide design support to cross-functional teams to improve or resolve design, performance, manufacturing, supplier, or field issues.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering)
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance (ASME Y14.5M, or applicable) relative to the function.
Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
Desired Characteristics:
Previous working experience with CAD systems and direct interaction as a technical point of contact with sourcing and manufacturing shops.
Demonstrated experience in point-cloud processing and reverse engineering methodologies.
Experience in NX Siemens, covering the full spectrum of Blue Light scan (BLS) data processing, 3D modeling, and the application of PMI for comprehensive product definition.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems.
Knowledge of Product Definition Standard Procedures & Bill of Materials.
We will not provide any type of visa or relocation assistance
