
JOB TITLE: Garment Technologist
LOCATION: Moorgate, London
CONTRACT: Permanent. Full-Time
HOURS: 35 hours over 5 days per week (Monday - Friday)
PAY RATE: Up to £30,000 per annum
We are looking for an experienced Garment Technologist to join our Technical team. In this role, you will support the development and production of high-quality womenswear, working closely with design, buying, pattern cutting, suppliers and quality teams to ensure excellent fit, construction and consistency from first sample through to final delivery.
Leading garment fit and quality assurance from first fit through to final delivery.
Attending fit sessions with buyers, designers and pattern cutters, providing clear technical guidance and recommendations.
Measuring, documenting and assessing samples throughout the development and production process.
Reviewing garment construction and quality, identifying issues and proposing practical solutions.
Managing the critical path to ensure fittings, comments and approvals are completed on time.
Preparing fit comments, grading specifications and technical workbooks, and communicating updates to suppliers and factories.
Supporting product testing and safety compliance to ensure all products meet required standards.
Interpreting test reports, issuing wash care guidance and working with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality concerns.
At least 3 years’ recent experience as a womenswear Garment Technologist, ideally within a high street supplier environment.
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, quality assurance, wash care and pattern understanding.
Experience across multiple womenswear product areas including knit, jersey and woven, with exposure to casualwear, outerwear and soft tailoring.
A clear understanding of the supply chain and experience of working to critical path deadlines.
Confidence interpreting test reports and understanding testing requirements across different product types.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams and with suppliers.
Strong organisational skills, a proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
