
This is a full-time, professional position of a specialized nature with the Office of Strategy and Planning (OSP). The Gardening Team Coordinator will assist the AmeriCorps® Youth Programs Manager in implementing the Braddock Youth Project (BYP), a division of the KEYS Service Corps AmeriCorps Program. BYP is an after-school and summer academic assistance and work excellence training program for teens. Incumbent will work in a gardening-focused position for BYP in Braddock.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has assistant supervisory responsibilities over approximately 25 teen participants and assists in the supervision of 2-3 AmeriCorps members.
Additional Responsibilities
From time to time the employee will be required to perform additional tasks and duties as required by the employer.

Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related field, plus 1-2 years’ experience in youth programming, planning or administration

Any equivalent combination of education and experience that meets the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Experience working at least one full growing season in a gardening or farm operation. Master gardening certification or willingness to obtain certification is strongly desired.
Preferred Qualification: Former participant in a youth leadership, workforce development, mentoring, or service program, with the ability to draw on personal experience to effectively engage, mentor, and support current program participants.

Driver’s license strongly preferred
