At Marymead CatholicCare, our CHOICES & Aged Care Services team is committed to empowering people to live fulfilling, independent lives. We support people with disability, older persons, and young people with trauma backgrounds through flexible, person-centred services tailored to individual goals and aspirations. We are seeking compassionate, adaptable, and motivated Gardeners and Maintenance Officers to join our team.

About the Role:

As a Gardening and Maintenance Officer for Marymead CatholicCare (MCCG), you will be providing our clients with gardening services within their homes in the ACT and surrounding region. This rewarding position with fulfil your interest in providing a supportive and compassionate service within aged care and disability services and giving something back to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out garden maintenance, cleaning and repair works daily.
  • Have good knowledge of gardening maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Be able to use power tools, hand tools and electrical equipment proficiently and in a capable, safe manner.
  • Complete all work in a timely and professional manner.
  • Always act professional and courteous with all staff and clients.
  • Undertake administrative functions of the role.
  • Comply with workplace health and safety laws.
  • The ability to demonstrate support and compassion for those in the aged care and disability sector.
  • Undertake various tasks related to property services eg: office/housing furniture set ups etc.
  • Adhere to MCCG Code of Ethics and Conduct.

About You:

To be successful, you will have:

  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • The capacity to work in both a team and as an individual.
  • The ability to take reasonable directions from leadership and follow WHS legislation.
  • Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of gardens and gardening equipment.
  • Reliability and punctuality to attend a daily schedule.

You will also require:

  • Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current driver licence

This is a permanent part-time role working a minimum of 40 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of working up to 76 hours per fortnight.
