Job Description

The Role

Bring your talent & passion for gardening to Merivale's growing portfolio of venues across Sydney & surrounds. We are looking for some new Gardeners to join our horticultural team. This truly is a unique position, utilising your passion and skills in plants within a fun, energetic working environment.

You will be responsible for proactively maintaining all onsite plants in a variety of growing situations, including the care and upkeep of indoor plants, container plantings, courtyard/balcony/rooftop gardens and established planter beds. Tasks will include watering, fertilising, pruning, potting, and mulching, as well as pest control including the application of pesticides. You will be able to work autonomously and as part of a team and will be responsible for delivering on the vision for the Horticultural aspect of Merivale's venue portfolio.

Ideally you have:

  • 1-3+ years of experience in the horticulture industry required depending on the role applying for
  • Trade certification in horticulture is highly advantageous as well as current chemical application accreditation
  • Current full driver’s license & confidence driving across multiple Sydney locations & operation of Long Wheelbase van
  • Be truly passionate about plants and gardening and have a keen eye for design/visual styling
  • Be prepared for heavy lifting and manual labour and are comfortable working at heights, with harness work involved, previous experience is highly advantageous.
