What you’ll do

Help keep Believe Housing properties safe, tidy and well maintained by delivering high-quality gardening and grounds maintenance services across a range of residential sites. You'll work both independently and as part of a supportive maintenance team, using your practical skills to create outdoor spaces that residents can enjoy while providing friendly, customer-focused service.

You’ll be trusted to make a valuable impact by:

● Carrying out gardening and grounds maintenance, including mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, mulching and irrigation maintenance.

● Operating and maintaining gardening equipment and power tools safely while completing work to a high standard.

● Completing minor property maintenance tasks, reporting maintenance issues and maintaining accurate records.

● Building positive relationships with residents by delivering responsive, respectful and customer-focused service.

● Following safe work practices and contributing to a positive workplace safety culture.

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:

● Experience in gardening, grounds maintenance, landscaping or a similar outdoor maintenance role.

● Confidence using gardening equipment, power tools and machinery safely.

● Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of work.

● A customer-focused approach with good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues.

● A current driver's licence and the ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work.

We would also love you to have:

● Experience maintaining residential or community housing properties.

● Knowledge of irrigation systems, weed control and basic horticultural practices.

● Basic computer skills to complete records and report maintenance issues.

● A horticulture, landscaping or related qualification (desirable but not essential).

About The Royal Children's Hospital

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. Together, we are committed to improving the health outcomes for children today and in the future.

In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
