Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent LTMO/Ganger to join our Area 10 Strategic Highways account based in Preston Brook, Runcorn.

As an LTMO/Ganger, you will play a key role in leading Traffic Management operations across the strategic road network. You will be responsible for managing a Traffic Management team, ensuring the safe installation and removal of both planned and emergency traffic management in accordance with Chapter 8 requirements.

You will supervise and support operatives working under your direction, contributing to the successful delivery of maintenance activities, KPI performance, and our "right first time" approach. You will work closely with Supervisors, Controllers and Pre-Works Technicians to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Working Pattern

• Average of 42 hours per week
• 4 days on, 4 days off shift pattern
• Participation in winter maintenance and emergency response activities as required

What You'll Be Doing

• Maintaining high technical standards in the delivery of Temporary Traffic Management solutions.
• Attending project and operational briefings as required.
• Leading, mentoring and supporting operatives and apprentices within your team.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
• Managing the security and effective use of vehicles, plant and materials under your control.
• Planning and estimating resource requirements for works activities.
• Installing and removing Temporary Traffic Management in line with Chapter 8 requirements.
• Undertaking a range of highway maintenance activities including drainage, kerbing, fencing, signing, patching, sweeping and general maintenance works.
• Driving and operating specialist vehicles and plant equipment, including daily inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Completing all operational records and paperwork accurately and on time.
• Liaising professionally with colleagues, subcontractors, emergency services, police, clients, customers and members of the public.
• Reporting health and safety concerns, performance issues and operational risks to the Supervisor.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• LGV Class C Licence
• NHSS 12A/B High-Speed Traffic Management qualification
• Appropriate HSEA and compliance training
• CSCS Card (or equivalent competency card)
• CITB Site Safety Management qualification (or equivalent)
• NRSWA qualification
• Personal Highways Passport
• Experience working with Chapter 8 Traffic Management on high-speed roads
• Experience delivering emergency and winter maintenance services
• Experience managing teams installing Traffic Management
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Self-motivated, proactive and solution-focused approach
