Summary:
Catawba Two Kings Casino is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Gaming Systems Engineer to join the Information Technology team at our casino hotel operation in Kings Mountain, NC. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of mission-critical gaming technology systems that directly support casino floor operations, regulatory compliance, and the guest experience.
The Gaming Systems Engineer works closely with the IT department, Gaming Operations, Compliance, and external gaming system vendors to ensure the availability, security, and integrity of all gaming platforms. This position plays a vital role in maintaining uninterrupted casino operations in a highly regulated, 24/7 environment while ensuring adherence to tribal gaming regulations.
Responsibilities
- Gaming Systems Operations: Install, configure, maintain, and support casino gaming systems including Casino Management Systems (CMS), Player Tracking Systems, Table Games Systems, kiosks, bonusing and promotional systems, and ticket-in/ticket-out (TITO) platforms. Monitor system health, performance, logs, and alerts to ensure high availability and reliability of gaming operations.
- Infrastructure & Technical Support: Support gaming-related servers and databases. Perform system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes with minimal impact to casino operations.
- Compliance & Regulatory Support: Ensure gaming systems comply with all applicable tribal gaming regulations as well as internal controls. Support regulatory audits, inspections, and system certifications. Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, access controls, and change management required for regulatory compliance.
- Security & Access Control: Partner with Information Security to ensure proper access management, system hardening, cybersecurity controls, and incident response procedures for gaming systems.
- Vendor & Project Coordination: Serve as the technical liaison with gaming vendors and service providers. Coordinate system installs, upgrades, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Participate in gaming technology projects, new system deployments, and casino floor expansions.
- Incident Response & On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical gaming systems and respond to outages or incidents.
- Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Create and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and disaster recovery plans. Stay current on emerging gaming technologies and regulatory updates.
QualificationsRequired Experience & Skills:
- 7+ years of experience installing, supporting, and maintaining gaming systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows Server and SQL Server environments.
- In-depth backend and frontend knowledge of Genesis TrackIt table games system with RFID.
- In-depth backend and frontend knowledge of Aristocrat Oasis CMS.
- In-depth backend and frontend knowledge of casino operations.
- Experience with implementation and management of gaming system interfaces and gateways.
- Experience with RHEL environments.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to coach and manage a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; bend to open/use lower drawers or cabinetry; to talk, hear, and see. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
