
We are looking for a talented gameplay programmer to join our team. You will be working on a currently unannounced game to get it past release and beyond. You have an interest in problem solving and thinking about things from different angles in order to come up with solutions that work well both from a game design perspective as well as a code perspective.
As a game programmer you will be working closely with members of other disciplines such as designers and artists in addition to your fellow programmers. Having experience in how our games work from a player perspective will be very useful here to turn the requirements from design into actual gameplay.
Build and maintain well-engineered C++ code with high levels of stability and performance.
Implement new and improve existing features in the game, and take long term responsibility for their quality.
Work across multiple different parts of the game code such as gameplay systems, AI, graphics, user interface, scripting, and optimization.
Solve interesting problems, ranging from designing and building new systems from scratch to optimizing features to be both performant and scriptable.
Collaborate daily with other programmers, designers and artists.
Identify, investigate and fix bugs in a timely manner.
Participate in code reviews.
Help the team to level-up by sharing knowledge with your peers and being open to learning from them.
Break down design documents into estimated tasks together with other team members.
Professional C++ programming experience
Ability to work independently and to take long-term ownership of features
Good grasp of English, both written and spoken
Familiarity with strategy or simulation game genres
Prior experience in game development is meriting
Practical Information
Scope: Full-time and permanent with a 6 -month probation period
Reports to: Managing Tech Lead
Location: Stockholm, Sweden. Relocation will not be provided.
Salary: The starting salary for this position is 47000 SEK per month. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and overall alignment with the requirements of the role.
