TransPerfect Games is a leading provider of bespoke and flexible videogame services, offering a wide range of solutions including translation, functional and localization game testing, certification testing, focus group and playtesting, player support and community management, cybersecurity and penetration testing, tool development, art design, game writing, GDPR consultancy, and voice-over recording.

With over 1000 well-known global game developers and publishers as our clients, we are looking for Game Localization and creative writing talents with native or near-native language skills in Japanese & Simplified Chinese (China) to join us to provide client support in a dynamic and exciting environment.

Important information:

• This position is on a freelance contract.
• Duration: 3 months (with a possibility to extend for longer collaboration)
• Working hours: Core Business Hours (8 hours per day) in APAC, Mon. – Fri.
• Set-up: remote.

Requirements

Responsibilities

1. Translate/Localize and perform creative writing for gaming contents from Simplified Chinese to Japanese.
2. Collaborate closely with the localization team and development team – communicate translation needs, help resolve issues during the translation process.

Requirements

• Writing ability: near professional/literary writer level, with strong awareness of Japanese writing styles and expressive techniques
• Proven skill: Demonstrates strong skills in Gaming translation (localization)/LQA.
• Must have experience playing story-driven/narrative games.
• Experience working for a variety of game types or genres.
• Prior experience in writing original stories, novels, books or scripts is highly desirable, with a strong emphasis on creative writing skills and imaginative thinking.
