Valmont is seeking motivated, dependable, and safety-focused individuals to join our team as General Shop Help at our Claremore, Oklahoma Coatings Division. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to begin or grow a career in manufacturing with a company that values teamwork, quality, and employee development.

In this role, you will support our galvanizing and below ground coatings operations by preparing steel products and materials for processing, assisting with production activities, and helping ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. Working alongside an experienced team, you will play an important role in delivering products that serve critical infrastructure and communities around the world.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare steel products and materials for the galvanizing/BGC process
  • Hang angle iron and other products on spreader bars for processing
  • Stage tubular products and organize materials for production
  • Inspect and safely use production fixtures, chains, hooks, and lifting devices
  • Wire small and medium-sized parts to racks for pickling and galvanizing
  • Move steel materials throughout the facility and yard
  • Perform finishing and quality-enhancement activities on galvanized products
  • Operate air and electric-powered tools to prepare and clean materials
  • Assist with general housekeeping and maintaining a clean, organized workspace
  • Follow all safety procedures and help create a safe work environment for yourself and your teammates

What We're Looking For

  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically active work
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work throughout the duration of the shift in an industrial environment
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and committed to producing quality work

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous manufacturing or industrial experience
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Experience operating bridge cranes or forklifts
  • Heavy equipment operation certification
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions
  • Ability to work effectively and positively with coworkers
