The Māngere Community Hub is seeking a Gallery Co-ordinator to join our whānau. This is a permanent 40-hour full-time position working Monday-Friday, and some Saturdays for exhibition opening events and will be based at the Māngere Arts Centre - Ngā Tohu o Uenuku in the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board area.

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

The purpose of this role is to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the art centre with emphasis on public programming and the delivery of high-quality exhibitions and events, with a strong focus on the needs and priorities of the local board and local communities.

The role supports a positive customer experience by working with the public, community groups, schools, artists, and contractors, while delivering exhibitions, events, and programmes, providing front-of-house and admin support, and ensuring health and safety standards are met.

Māngere Arts Centre - Ngā Tohu o Uenuku is the “home of Māori and Pacific visual and performing arts” in Auckland. If you have a passion for helping communities to prosper, are a team player, and possess experience and knowledge in art centre function and service, exhibition and event delivery, arts education and writing, and design and marketing, then you will thrive in this environment, and we welcome your interest.

Fluency in a Pasifika language or Te Reo Māori is desirable but not essential.

We are expecting to appoint the successful applicant at a salary starting at $60,216 per annum, depending upon experience.
