Serves as the agency GAAP Coordinator working under the Chief Fiscal Office in our Springfield, IL office location. Directs and coordinates financial reporting for the Department of Labor. Responsible for completion of converting financial information from cash to either modified accrual or accrual basis to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including Fee Imposition reporting, quarterly Accounts Receivable, and Tax Expenditures reporting. Prepares written entries to journalize amounts in accordance with the Comptroller’s Statewide Accounting Management System (SAMS) procedure manual. Collaborates with IDOL leadership to provide independent oversight of financial reporting, risk management, and audit functions to strengthen accountability, transparency, and public trust and to identify and evaluate significant exposures and risks to IDOL, contributing to the improvement of internal control systems, and to promote risk-informed decision-making by leadership.

Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to this position. This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiring the occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.) requires certain state officials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretary of State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. All employees required to file a Statement of Economic Interest are also required to file the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive Ethics Commission.
