Material Handler – $20/hr – 1st Shift

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Shift: 1st Shift

Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Location: Bogart, GA

Job Summary

We are hiring a Material Handler to help move, organize, grade, and prepare recyclable materials throughout the facility.

This is a hands-on position that involves physical work, material-handling equipment, loading materials, and keeping accurate records. Candidates should be comfortable working in a recycling facility around dirt, odors, noise, heat, and cold.

Job Duties

• Move recyclable materials throughout the facility
• Use equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, handcarts, hoists, and cranes as required
• Load materials into vehicles
• Secure loads using straps, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage
• Move materials from storage or work areas to assigned locations
• Use tablets to enter and review part numbers, quantities, locations, and other information
• Attach tags or labels to materials, cases, bales, and containers
• Properly document completed work
• Conduct material audits
• Grade and evaluate materials for their proper destination
• Follow all workplace and facility safety procedures

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience is helpful, but entry-level candidates may be considered
• Must be able to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to push, pull, bend, twist, and lift throughout the shift
• Must be comfortable working around dirt, odors, noise, heat, and cold
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, physical, background check, and employment verification

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional or specialized training beyond a high school diploma or GED
• Previous material handling, warehouse, recycling, or equipment experience

Work Environment

This position is based in a material recycling facility. The work is physical and may require frequent lifting, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling.

Employees may be exposed to dirt, odors, noise, and changing temperatures during most of the workday.

Pay: $20.00/hour | 1st Shift | 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
