Job Description
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Central Enablement Team and support the development and enhancement of an enterprise-wide Resiliency-as-a-Service platform.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated infrastructure, integrations, and workflows that enable engineering teams to manage incidents effectively, improve system reliability, and minimise downtime.
This role focuses on Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), observability platforms, incident management integrations, AI-driven automation, and continuous improvement of platform reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Automation & Platform Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, and Ansible.
- Build automated monitoring and incident management workflows to support standardised platform deployment.
- Develop self-service onboarding portals and APIs to enable engineering teams to integrate applications into the central resiliency platform.
- Implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and platform reliability.
Incident Management & System Integration
- Develop and maintain API integrations and webhooks between observability platforms such as Elasticsearch, AWS, Azure, and Dynatrace and IT Service Management (ITSM) systems.
- Integrate monitoring and alerting solutions with Jira Service Management (JSM) to streamline incident management processes.
- Automate alert routing, incident enrichment, ticket creation, and workflow execution.
- Develop and maintain integrations with the central Elastic Intelligence platform to enable consolidated monitoring and incident visibility.
AI Operations & Automated Remediation
- Implement AIOps capabilities to support anomaly detection, root cause analysis (RCA), and proactive incident management.
- Develop automation scripts using Python, Go, or Node.js to execute automated runbooks and remediation workflows.
- Build self-healing capabilities to automatically detect, respond to, and resolve common infrastructure and application issues.
- Integrate AI-driven incident reporting capabilities into ITSM platforms to automate incident summaries, timelines, and post-incident reviews (PIRs).
Platform Reliability & CI/CD
- Ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of central observability and incident management platforms.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, configuration management, and deployment.
- Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with product leads, engineering teams, and stakeholders to translate business and operational requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide technical consultation and support to platform users, addressing integration challenges and enhancing platform capabilities.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in DevOps Engineering, Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Platform Engineering.
- Experience working in centralised platform engineering teams or Internal Developer Platform (IDP) environments is advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, Go, or Node.js for automation, REST API development, and system integrations.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible.
- Experience deploying and managing infrastructure in AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Practical knowledge of observability and monitoring tools such as OpenTelemetry, Elastic Stack, Dynatrace, or Datadog.
- Experience integrating ITSM platforms such as Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, or PagerDuty through APIs and automated workflows.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and modern DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of incident management, root cause analysis, alerting workflows, and automated remediation.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering and operations teams.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on automation, reliability, and continuous improvement.
