GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

In this challenging role, you will be supporting the CEED - Cont Edu and Econ Dev department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.

  1. To assist Career and Technical Education (CTE) students, CTE faculty and employers in securing student learning activities outside of the CTE classroom; to prepare students for those activities.
  2. Promote GTC and Experiential Learning (EL) by establishing relationships with area high schools and Career Centers. Introduce high school students, parents and faculty to Experiential Learning.
  3. Collaborate with the college's CTE academic departments to promote EL to faculty and students; connect employers to faculty, and students to employers. Develop knowledge of CTE program content and related jobs in GTC service area.

4.Prepare CTE EL student applicants for job search by instructing them in resume writing, interviewing skills and other employability skills. Increase student retention by advocating, coaching, advising, resolving problems with college and/or employers, referring to internal agencies.

  1. Develop EL positions for CTE students with local employers. Assist in identifying, recruiting, testing, and interviewing of student applicants as appropriate. Act as a resource to industry partners to address questions and concerns regarding students, college policies, or other matters. Plan and execute events to showcase industry partners and encourage CTE student EL enrollment. Analyze current workforce needs and determine best program options. Assist employers in development of new CTE student positions.
  2. Develop and maintain records and data bases required by the college and the Perkins Grant.

This is a temporary granted funded position supported by the Perkins Grant

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma and relevant program experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree and 2 years related work experience, or an associate degree and 3 years related work experience; or high school diploma and 5 years related work experience. Basic knowledge of computer operations required. Employee should have excellent customer service skills, written and oral communication skills, experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), document formatting proficiency, ability to learn internal software program, ability to work with internal/external customers, ability to organize and set priorities, demonstrate initiative and perform complex administrative tasks, and work with confidential information appropriately.
