Job Description

Start: August 2026
Job Type: Full-Time (30–40 hours/week, W2)
Compensation: $35-40/hour for teaching + $16–20/hour for non-teaching/admin time

Join Think Academy as a full-time G1-G2 Math Teacher. Teach with a structured, high-quality curriculum, receive paid training, and grow into long-term teaching and curriculum roles. We're especially looking for candidates with the potential to grow into a Grade Leader role, taking on teacher mentorship and grade-level management responsibilities as they develop. This is a long-term teaching opportunity — not a short-term tutoring role.

About Think Academy

Think Academy US, a wholly owned subsidiary of TAL Education Group (NYSE: TAL), is a leading education company dedicated to helping K–12 students build strong academic foundations, confidence in math, and long-term learning ability through high-quality teaching and thoughtfully designed curriculum.

Why This Role Is Different

Most teaching roles expect you to build everything yourself. Here, you teach within a structured instructional system — curriculum, lesson materials, training, and team support are already in place, so you can focus on teaching quality and student growth instead of building materials from scratch.

  • Stronger Teaching Support — high-quality curriculum and lesson materials, structured onboarding, ongoing training, and a team to collaborate with instead of teaching in isolation
  • A Path to Grade Leader — this role is designed as a talent pipeline for our G1-G2 team. Strong performers may be considered for Grade Leader responsibilities within their first several months, taking on teacher coaching, standard-setting, and grade-level coordination
  • Competitive, Growing Earnings — paid for both teaching and non-teaching work, with performance-based raises up to 3 times a year, and an end-of-semester commission

What You'll Do

  • Teach G1-G2 math in a clear, engaging, kids-friendly way, using our curriculum, lesson materials, and instructional guidance.
  • Lead virtual classes with strong classroom energy, patience, and the ability to hold young students' attention and engagement. Create a warm, positive, high-expectation learning environment suited to early learners
  • Grade homework, give timely feedback, and communicate proactively and professionally with parents about progress, classroom behavior, and learning habits.
  • Deeply understand each lesson's teaching goals and common student sticking points, rather than simply following slides
  • Participate in training, lesson prep, and ongoing professional development; take feedback well and continuously refine your teaching and service habits

Schedule & Commitment

  • Onboarding starts August 2026; teaching begins September 2026
  • ~3-6 classes/week (6-12 teaching hours), plus admin hours (grading, prep, parent comms) — total 30-40 hrs/week
  • Class windows (Pacific Time): Wed-Fri, 4pm-8pm and Sat-Sun, 9am-8pm
  • Once classes are assigned, your schedule stays consistent week to week (except federal holidays)
  • Commit to at least one year (till May 2027)
  • Relocation potential: for candidates on the Grade Leader track, we'd like you to be able to relocate to our Bay Area office between November and January, contingent on strong performance in your first few months

Compensation & Benefits

  • Teaching Hours: $35-40/hour
  • Non-Teaching/Admin Hours: $16-20/hour (grading, class prep, parent communication)
  • Performance-based pay increases up to 3 times per year, plus end-of-semester commission targeted at 15-30% of total teaching compensation
  • Benefits: 401(k), health/dental/vision insurance (based on eligibility)
  • Visa sponsorship may be considered for long-term, high-performing teachers

Who We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • Strong math foundation, comfortable with U.S. Elementary School math content or above; Education, Child Development, Math Education, Psychology, or related majors preferred
  • Fluent, confident English instruction skills, plus the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with parents and internal team members in Chinese or bilingually
  • Meaningful prior experience with young learners (tutoring, camp teaching, after-school programs, classroom teaching, mentoring). Bonus points for prior online teaching experience
  • Strong service mindset: proactive, comfortable initiating communication with parents, students, and the team, not just delivering lessons
  • Open to feedback, self-reflective, and able to quickly adjust your teaching and service approach
  • Genuinely interested in a long-term teaching career and growth at Think Academy
  • Available during the class windows above; available on at least one weekend day
  • Candidates based in or open to relocating to the Bay Area preferred
  • Bonus points for candidates with experience as a team lead, mentor, or TA lead; math competition background; curriculum design or teacher training experience
