Job Description

The FX Settlements Analyst role is responsible for executing end-to-end settlement for foreign exchange transactions, with a focus on FX Sell flows, ensuring accuracy, timely execution, adherence to applicable policies and requirements, strong process controls, and diligent operational risk management. The role includes settling FX Sell trades, reviewing foreign currency payment instructions for consistency with executed trades, processing tax payments on behalf of clients, analyzing and resolving internal reconciliation breaks, prioritizing the payment queue based on criticality, value date, amounts, risk and client/business impact, escalating as needed and partnering with relevant teams to resolve exceptions and drive continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily operational routines and controls in accordance with established procedures within the FX Settlements Team.

  • Execute payments by reviewing payment instructions based on the golden source / banking channel indicated by clients, with diligence.

  • Monitor and prioritize operational payments based on criticality, cut-offs, amounts, etc.

  • Collect taxes on behalf of clients.

  • Analyze and substantiate internal reconciliations and act to resolve potential breaks.

  • Provide cross-border operational support to the Front Desk and internal support functions, partnering with Treasury, Middle Office, and global Operations teams to ensure timely execution, effective issue resolution and clear escalation across time zones and cut-offs.

  • Monitor and adjust transactions to be settled in the Brazilian´s Central Bank.

  • Identify opportunities to improve our processes.

  • Develop improvements and system-based solutions to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in operational processes.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Comex, Economics, or Accounting.

  • Operational experience and/or knowledge of the Financial Services industry required.

  • Experience with operational processes and controls is required.

  • Understanding of Payments Operations processes and controls is considered an advantage.

  • Strong ability to manage a high workload and set priorities is desirable.

  • Experience with process automation tools—preferably Alteryx or Python—to identify and implement efficiency improvements is desirable.

  • Advanced English (written and spoken) is desirable.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills:

  • Knowledge of Fx transactions lifecycle is preferred.
