Job Description

FX Services is a London centric, global operation covering 21 hours of the day, dealing in a ‘riskless principal’ capacity and is ring fenced from its major CIB FX trading desks, providing spot and forward FX services to clients of various J.P. Morgan businesses – Securities Services, Wholesale Payments, Commercial Bank, Merchant Solutions, Consumer and Business Bank, and the Private Bank. Other services include execution of client instructed FX transactions related to corporate payments, securities trades, dividend and income receipts, corporate actions and other related instructions. We are currently looking to expand our Singapore coverage due to business growth.

As an Associate in the FX Services team, you will be responsible for execution and risk management of FX-based products including Emerging Markets Spot, Frontier Market Spot, NDF (Non-Deliverable Forwards) and Fully Convertible SWAPS related to the activity of our investor clients. You will also provide risk monitoring and oversight of automated deliverable currency execution and direct execution with J.P. Morgan’s investor client base.

Job responsibilities

  • Execute and risk manage FX-based products including Emerging Markets Spot, Frontier Market Spot, NDF (Non-Deliverable Forwards) and Fully Convertible SWAPS related to the activity of our investor clients
  • Monitor and provide oversight of automated deliverable currency execution
  • Execute directly with J.P. Morgan’s investor client base
  • Act as a subject matter expert on restricted markets including liquidity trends, regional regulations and changing market conditions
  • Utilise internal proprietary trading data alongside public market data to demonstrate execution quality, providing insight into potential improvements
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency in execution, product development, desk controls and procedures
  • Collaborate with senior team members, FX Services Sales and Product, Network Management, local liquidity providers, Technology, and Operations to continuously develop and deliver best-in-class client service and solutions

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or other related disciplines
  • Knowledge and interest in macroeconomics, market drivers and FX markets
  • Demonstrable proficiency with market and product terminology
  • Excellent numeracy skills and technically minded
  • Attention to detail whilst under pressure and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Highly motivated, ability to adapt to steep learning curve, able to work independently
  • Strong partnership skills, team player, reliable and able to work independently
  • Confident to challenge the status quo and able to communicate clearly and articulately to clients and management
  • Minimum three years’ experience working in FX Trading or FX Sales
  • MAS registered/approved person

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Desired prior experience and exposure to Emerging Markets and NDF’s
  • Exposure to trading venues including Bloomberg, FX Connect, FXall and 360T
  • Desired proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and VBA
  • Desired proficiency in data analytics tools, including Tableau, Alteryx and Python
  • Desired experience of dealing with clients
