Under the general supervision of the Energy and Resilience Manager, with direct guidance from the Waste Management Analyst, the student assistant will play an active role in the day to day operations of campus Waste Management. Campus Waste management provides a myriad of services relating to the proper disposal and diversion of the Universities various waste and recyclable materials.
The Student Assistant will have a multitude of area-specific duties and responsibilities including but not limited to:
- General office support i.e. copying, scanning and filing.
- On hand support to Waste management functions including but not limited to sweeping and maintaining waste enclosures, picking up toners/supplies and assisting with e-waste pickups.
- Ability to operate small carts and vehicles and assist with transportation and pick up of materials around campus.
- May also assist with campus Auction and Organics programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Background Check
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
License/Certifications
A valid California driver's license.
