Key responsibilities include:

  • Risk Framework & Controls Strengthen the Private Bank’s non-financial risk framework, including leading KRCSA, independent reviews, and enhancing control effectiveness. Identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Regulatory & Risk Management: Drive implementation of regulatory changes and perform risk assessments on new regulations impacting the Private Bank.
  • Governance & Oversight: Manage risk governance forums, regulatory inspections, and reporting across key non-financial risk areas.
  • Audit & Compliance: Partner with internal/external auditors and Compliance to manage audits, MRAs, action plans, and reviews.
  • Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement: Provide pragmatic risk advisory to Front Office and support functions, including communicating outcomes, resolving issues, and influencing improvements.
  • Projects & Thematic Reviews Lead special projects, thematic reviews, and investigations (e.g., Suitability, Pricing, Credit), leveraging data analytics to identify emerging risk trends.
  • Risk Analytics & Oversight: Assess AI/model deployments and EUCs for policy compliance, using data-driven insights to enhance risk monitoring.
  • Team & Collaboration: Support and collaborate with other team members while working closely with business, and control partners across the organization.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 12-15 years in risk governance, preferably in Private Banking, with strong background in risk, compliance, audit, or consulting, including regulatory change and risk assessments.
  • Regulatory & Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of MAS regulations (particularly Pricing, Anti-Fraud and Investment Suitability) and risk management frameworks, with practical application in controls, assurance, and testing. Experience with data analytics or risk modelling is advantageous.
  • Leadership & Delivery: Proven ability to lead thematic reviews, risk assessments, and projects, as well as manage governance forums and work effectively with audit and compliance stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder & Advisory Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide effective risk advisory and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical & Technical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data handling capabilities, with proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; experience with analytics and visualization tools is a plus.
  • Personal Attributes: Resilient, detail-oriented, and able to balance commercial and risk considerations while managing multiple priorities under pressure. High integrity and strong organizational skills.
  • Education: Degree in a relevant discipline; postgraduate or professional qualifications in risk, compliance, or analytics are an advantage.
