Job Description

Austin High School is looking for engaging and highly motivated educators to co-lead the Future Teacher Club at Austin High School.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Leaders would meet with student bi-monthly to cultivate interest in and to learn about the field of education. Through the club, students would have opportunities to participate in activities including field trips, college visits, classroom observation and mentorship experiences, speaker series, etc. The leaders will work in collaboration with the Future Teacher Coordinator, administrators, and the students to design the club to meet the needs and interests of students exploring the teacher education pathway. These positions are grant funded through 2028 with the opportunity to reapply for grants to support the project. The primary goal for this Grow Your Own Program is to cultivate interest and opportunity for our BIPOC students in teacher education, through the creation of a comprehensive pathway to completion of an education licensure program and back to Austin Public Schools.
