Job Description

Future Fuels Manager - SAF (Procurement)(17059)

INTRO

We are easyJet – a FTSE listed, £multi-billion low-cost airline that serves tens of millions of customers every single year. If you’re reading this, you have probably already been an easyJet customer, and you’ll know that there is no more iconic (or Orange!) travel brand in Europe.

We fly more than 1,207 routes, connecting 38 countries across Europe, and employ more than 18,000 colleagues. We’re on a mission to make low-cost travel easy – and whatever your role here, you’ll connect millions of people to what they love using Europe’s best airline network, great value fares, and friendly service.

What makes us easyJet? Our Promise Behaviours - we are Safe, Bold, Welcoming and Challenging. Four Behaviours. One Spirit. One easyJet.

Read on if you

  • Have experience in fuel, energy markets, SAF, trading, or complex commercial environments
  • Enjoy building partnerships, shaping strategy, and working in evolving markets
  • Are motivated by balancing cost, sustainability, and long-term value
  • Can be in our fantastic Luton head office 3 x per week

THE TEAM

Our Procurement team manages over £3 billion of external spend across easyJet, supporting every part of the business from operations to customer and corporate functions.

Within this, the Fuel category is going through a major transformation as Sustainable Aviation Fuel becomes a core part of how we operate. This is a fast-moving, high-impact area where commercial thinking, innovation, and strong external relationships are critical. You’ll join a team at the centre of that change, working closely with Sustainability, Finance, Operations, and Legal.

THE ROLE

As Future Fuels Manager – SAF, you’ll play a key part in shaping how easyJet sources and secures Sustainable Aviation Fuel in a developing and capacity-constrained market. This is not a traditional procurement role. It is commercially led, market-facing, and focused on building long-term supply partnerships.

  • You’ll engage directly with fuel majors, SAF producers, and emerging upstream players to influence how we access supply, structure agreements, and meet our sustainability ambitions.
  • Lead engagement with SAF producers, fuel majors, and upstream partners to develop long-term supply opportunities
  • Support the creation and delivery of short, medium, and long-term fuel strategies focused on SAF and future fuels
  • Structure and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including long-term contracts and evolving pricing models
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align on sustainability targets, regulatory requirements, and operational needs
  • Build strong supplier relationships to drive value, performance, and innovation
  • Analyse commercial proposals, including pricing, regulatory impacts, and long-term assumptions
  • Ensure procurement governance and compliance while adapting to a developing and less standardised market
  • Produce insights and reporting to support strategic decision making and investment planning
  • Contribute to reducing fuel consumption and improving efficiency across operations

Requirements of the Role

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re open to talent from across the fuel, energy, and commercial landscape. You may come from procurement, trading, supply, or upstream operations. What matters is your ability to navigate complexity and deliver commercial impact.

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements
  • Knowledge of fuel markets, SAF, or broader energy value chains
  • Ability to operate effectively in a developing and sometimes ambiguous market
  • Confident influencing and engaging senior stakeholders internally and externally
  • Strong relationship-building skills across diverse supplier groups
  • Experience working with long-term contracts and evolving commercial frameworks
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial and pricing models
  • Self-starter with drive, resilience, and a focus on delivery
  • Understanding of regulatory environments such as UK ETS or EU ETS is beneficial
  • Degree level education or equivalent experience
  • CIPS or similar qualifications are advantageous but not essential

WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURN

  • Up to 20% maximum bonus
  • PMI
  • 7% pension contributions
  • Excellent staff travel benefits
  • 25 days of annual leave + bank holidays
  • Annual credit towards an easyJet holiday
  • Various flexible benefits and extras

PRACTICALITIES

This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend 60% of our time per month in the office
