Job Description

Sunbelt Supply is a global provider of flow control solutions. We maintain one of the largest and most diversified selections of valves, actuators, actuation accessories and specialty PFF in North America, comprised of more than 50 major manufacturers. We provide in-house valve automation services, including CAD design and drawings, machine, fabrication, assembly shops featuring CNC machinery, and automation repair work.

Job Information

Operates in the field, on-call or provides technical support to assigned customers. Installs, configures, performs problem determination and maintains products and equipment at customer sites, following blueprints and manufacturer's instructions, utilizing product and technical knowledge of equipment. Repairs or coordinates repair of worn or defective products or equipment. Perform skilled, technical work in the design, installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair for assigned product or process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of butt fusion, electrofusion, and socket fusion equipment.
  • Prepare HDPE pipe and fittings for fusion by measuring, aligning, cleaning, and inspecting materials.
  • Perform fusion operations in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
  • Support fabrication and assembly activities in shop and field environments.
  • Inspect fusion joints and identify defects or quality concerns.
  • Maintain accurate fusion records and project documentation as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of fusion equipment and tools.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, equipment, and supplies to job sites.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist other technicians and crews with installation, testing, and related construction activities.
  • Participate in training programs and pursue fusion certifications as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in both shop and field settings.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous construction, utility, pipeline, mechanical, fabrication, or similar experience preferred.
  • HDPE fusion training or certification preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Ability to obtain required certifications and complete company training programs.
  • CDL license is preferred.

  • Frequently work in uneven terrain, trenches, construction sites, and industrial environments.
  • Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
  • May be exposed to dust, dirt, noise, and vibration associated with construction and fabrication activities.

Work Environment

This position operates in both shop and field environments. Occasional visits to warehouses or operational sites may be required. Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.
