Furniture Repair Technician

Reports to: Returns Department Manager

We’re looking for an experienced, dependable technician who takes pride in their craftsmanship, works well with others, and is committed to getting the job done right.

What You’ll Do

As a Furniture Repair Technician, you’ll use your skills and experience to inspect, repair, and restore furniture while helping our team maintain Hudson’s standards for quality and customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Inspecting and repairing furniture in both lineup and shop environments
• Repairing casegoods, tables, upholstery, and other furniture
• Performing leather refinishing, fabrication, and restoration work
• Diagnosing damage and determining the appropriate repair method
• Using furniture repair tools, equipment, chemicals, and supplies safely and effectively
• Completing repairs efficiently without sacrificing quality
• Reading work orders and accurately documenting repair information
• Using computers and tablets to access and update repair information
• Working independently or alongside other technicians depending on the job
• Keeping your work area clean, safe, and organized
• Tracking shop supplies and communicating supply needs or concerns to management
• Communicating effectively with warehouse team members, technicians, supervisors, and managers
• Assisting with furniture assembly/builds when needed
• Supporting additional department needs as assigned

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of furniture repair experience required
• Experience repairing casegoods, upholstery, and furniture finishes
• Knowledge of furniture repair tools, materials, and chemicals
• Ability to work independently and manage repair priorities
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and document completed work
• Comfortable using computers and tablets
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment
• Physical agility and dexterity to perform furniture repairs throughout the shift
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and perform physical work for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and safely maneuver heavier furniture using appropriate equipment and/or assistance
