We are looking for a funeral director who shares our Core Values of Excellence, Trust, Care and Growth to assist families in honoring their loved ones. Depending on the needs of our funeral homes, our funeral directors may participate in removals, help families make arrangements, engage in decedent care and preparation, supervise visitations and direct services.
Successful team members are great communicators and treat families, decedents, colleagues and members of the community with dignity and respect.
And of course, we expect everyone on our team to work in a safe and organized manner, abiding by OSHA, state and local regulations as well as company policies. We pride ourselves on our well-kept facilities and grounds, and everyone does their part to keep them in family-ready condition.

Qualified applicants will hold and maintain a Funeral Director license that is valid in your area or possess the ability to reciprocate, have passed the National Board Exam and maintain a valid Driver's License. Additionally, the following may be required:

In 1977 Ren Newcomer, a 4th generation funeral director, purchased Penwell-Gabel and the company has grown consistently through the years. It now consists of 42 funeral homes and cemeteries and over 500 associates. Our funeral homes include the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Homes in Kansas, Dove Cremation & Funeral Service in Topeka, Kansas and the Newcomer Funeral Homes in Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Wyoming and Wisconsin.
