At The Lost Dogs’ Home, we are a foundation in Victoria's animal welfare landscape, celebrated for our compassionate care of around 18,000 lost and abandoned dogs and cats every year. About the Role

The Fundraising Officer plays a key role in supporting the Philanthropy and External Relations team, which is dedicated to generating support for the Home and raising vital funds by building strong relationships with donors and supporters. This role is responsible for providing administrative support across various fundraising streams, including individual giving and donor care, major gifts, bequests, and community events. It’s a fast-paced and dynamic position, ideal for someone who thrives on managing multiple priorities, enjoys collaborating with different stakeholders, and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Donations processing, sorting and management of all donor/supporter mail and return to sender mail.
  • Handling donor and supporter incoming calls, responding to email enquires.
  • Coordinating receipting process, including generation of receipts via mail/email.
  • Training and supervising volunteers in Fundraising as required.
  • Assisting with general fundraising reports and communications as required.
  • Supporting the wider team with fundraising and donor activities and events.

  • Demonstrated experience in a fundraising administration customer focused role
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the effective use of fundraising donor databases and maintaining accurate records
  • Confidence to build and maintain lasting relationships with key stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, outstanding phone manner
  • High-level attention to detail and ability to organise and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
