MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To ensure that the organisation’s strategic objectives and obligations as it pertains to funders and relevant stakeholders are met through effective negotiations, strategic relationship management and business development that grows the business and strengthens Mediclinic’s reputation while mitigating risks

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Funder relations management
  • Negotiate commercial terms with funders
  • Establish and maintain mutually beneficial strategic business relationships
  • Identify new business development within existing business structures / partnerships
  • Identify and manage risks to Mediclinic relating to funder contracts
  • Monitor and evaluate industry developments and changes, and their potential impact on the business environment within which Mediclinic operates

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role; Private healthcare/hospital experience

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role; private healthcare / hospital experience

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years' relevant experience; relevant medical scheme/ private hospital industry experience; negotiation and sales

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Funder environment, including third party arrangements and the associated complexities relating to tariff negotiations, benefit design and network development
  • Financial acumen
  • Understanding of operations of a hospital as a business entity
  • Negotiation and conflict management
  • Myriad tariff structures, including Alternative Reimbursement Models
  • Presentation skills
  • Legislation that may have a bearing on the Healthcare industry (e.g. National Health Act, Medicines and Related Substances Control Act, and Consumer Protection Act, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Relevant Namibian legislation (including but not limited to Medical Aid Funds Act (Namfisa), Competition Act and MVA Fund Act)
  • Healthcare industry
